About Infratech

Chris founded Infratech Corporation in 1994, recognizing a need for high-quality contractors in the electric utility industry. What started as a 4-man drill crew has grown into a full-service, turnkey utility partner licensed in 22 states — a testament to the vision and values Chris has championed since day one.

His career in utility construction spans more than four decades, beginning in 1978 while studying biochemistry at the University of Maryland. Chris worked his way up from foreman to Regional Vice President across gas, phone, cable, and power projects before leading a 12-state Southeast Region for a technology startup backed by the Electric Power Research Institute. Just prior to founding Infratech, he pioneered the first directional drilling and trenchless services operation in the Southeast US for the rehabilitation of failed power distribution systems.

As Founder and CEO, Chris developed Infratech’s tagline, Partnering for Improved Infrastructure, and has built the company on the belief that true partnerships with customers, vendors, and employees drive better outcomes for everyone involved. That philosophy has led to long-tenured relationships with investor-owned utilities and cooperatives from Florida to the Mid-Atlantic and across to Texas.

Today, Chris remains the driving force behind Infratech’s culture, keeping the company grounded in trust, accountability, and the commitment to deliver as it continues to grow as a leading turnkey provider to the electric utility industry.

Mark Wimberly brings more than 45 years of utility industry experience to his role as Senior Business Advisor at Infratech Corporation, where he focuses on strategic business development and operations.

Before joining Infratech, Mark served as Director of Distribution Engineering at DRG Technical Solutions in Prosper, Texas, where he led the development and operation of their utility engineering design business. Prior to that, he spent over seven years at Duke Energy as Vice President of Central Zone, holding additional senior roles including Vice President of Customer Delivery Programs, Vice President of Contractor Operations, Director of Grid Investments, overseeing a $2 billion+ portfolio, and General Manager of Grid Modernization.

Mark also served nine years at Progress Energy, including as Vice President of Distribution Construction and Maintenance for the South Coastal Zone in St. Petersburg, Florida, and as Director of Financial Services overseeing budgets across all operating divisions. Earlier in his career, he spent eleven years at Southern Company in a range of leadership roles across Gulf Power, Alabama Power, Mississippi Power, and Southern Electric International — with positions spanning generation development, distribution operations, federal affairs, and international operations in Melbourne, Australia.

Mark’s depth of experience across engineering, operations, finance, and executive leadership at some of the Southeast’s largest utilities makes him a uniquely valuable partner to Infratech and the clients we serve.

Steve Mitchell is Vice President of Contracts and Partnering Services at Infratech Corporation, leading business development, strategic account management, and operational support across the company’s electric utility construction markets.

With 28 years in the industry, Steve is a relationship and solutions-driven leader known for working through complex challenges to build long-term, trust-based partnerships. His work has helped expand Infratech’s footprint through the pursuit, negotiation, and stewardship of major Master Service Agreements, supporting nearly a billion dollars in cumulative contract value over the course of his career.

Steve’s connection to the trade runs deep. Watching his father restore power as a lineman after Hurricane Hugo sparked an interest that never faded. He began his career with Sumter Builders in 1996 and joined Infratech in 1999 as a lineman supervising crews. In 2000, he was part of the team that established Infratech’s Florida presence, now one of the company’s most significant regional operations. Promoted to Area Manager in 2004, Steve led large field teams across overhead and underground distribution, HDD, subaqueous construction, and storm restoration.

In 2006, he moved to the corporate office as Sales Manager, later serving as Director of Sales before stepping into his current role in 2014. Today, Steve drives cross-functional collaboration from pursuit strategy through contract execution, delivering practical solutions for IOUs, cooperatives, and municipalities across Infratech’s growing footprint.

Bobby Simpson is a retired energy executive and licensed Professional Engineer with more than 40 years of leadership experience in electric utility operations, strategic planning, and large-scale infrastructure investment.

Bobby began his career in 1977 with Carolina Power & Light Company, later Progress Energy and Duke Energy, holding senior leadership roles across distribution engineering, operations, and system reliability. He concluded his career as Director of Grid Investment Plan Integration, leading coordination of Duke Energy’s $25 billion, 10-year grid modernization program across six states and serving as the company’s expert witness in state regulatory proceedings.

A recognized leader in storm response, Bobby played a pivotal role following Hurricane Hugo in 1989, developing the company’s first comprehensive system storm plan and implementing its System Storm Center model — now a foundational approach to emergency response across the industry.

Bobby holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Virginia, and Georgia.

His commitment to community runs equally deep. He served as President of the Board of Directors for Transitions LifeCare, chairing strategic planning, change management, and governance initiatives, and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Governing for Nonprofit Excellence program. His service also includes leadership roles with the Boy Scouts of America, the Carolina Canoe Club, and multiple Presbyterian churches, where he has served as an ordained elder and Stephen Ministry leader for more than three decades.

Jeffrey Prim serves as Chief Operating Officer at Infratech Corporation, where he is focused on the three principles that drive everything the company does, safety, quality, and financial performance, alongside strategic planning, employee development, and company growth.
Jeff holds an Electrical Engineering degree from N.C. State University and began his career as an Associate Engineer at Carolina Power & Light (CP&L), where he also interned during the construction of the Harris Nuclear plant. Over the next 24 years, he worked his way through leadership roles in both transmission and distribution as CP&L acquired Florida Power Corp and became Progress Energy, now part of Duke Energy.

At Progress Energy, Jeff was instrumental in developing the company’s first Transmission Live Line Bare Hand crew and served as the company’s representative to the SEE Mutual Assistance Committee, stepping into that role in 2004 just as the first of six hurricanes made landfall in Progress Energy’s Florida territory. That experience forged relationships across the utility mutual assistance community that have lasted ever since. He also held responsibility for negotiating and managing contracts for overhead, underground, and vegetation management contractors across the Carolinas and Florida.

Since leaving the investor-owned utility environment in 2008, Jeff has held senior leadership roles with regional and national contractors, ESOP-based, publicly traded, and privately held, always accountable for the safety of the workforce, the quality of the work, and the financial results for company stakeholders.

Lisa Daniels serves as Controller at Infratech Corporation, bringing more than 35 years of experience across general and utility construction with a track record of financial leadership, operational innovation, and continuous improvement.

Lisa joined Infratech in 1996 as its first administrative and accounting employee, coming from progressive roles at Coca-Cola USA and The Coca-Cola Company, motivated by the opportunity to help build something from the ground up. That’s exactly what she did. Lisa developed Infratech’s first relational database and later collaborated on the creation of proprietary software that has supported company operations for more than two decades. Today, she continues to drive technology modernization initiatives that strengthen financial controls, streamline operations, and position Infratech for continued growth.

As Controller, Lisa leads cash management and accounts payable while supporting the strategic partnerships and onboarding processes that keep the organization running in alignment. She is known for building high-performing accounting teams grounded in accountability, adaptability, and a commitment to growth, investing in people and systems with equal intention.
Few people understand Infratech’s foundation as well as Lisa does. She has been a steady, trusted presence through every phase of the company’s evolution, helping guide the organization through change while maintaining the financial discipline that sustainable growth demands.

Daniel Draven serves as Director of Financial Reporting and FP&A at Infratech Corporation, reporting directly to the President and CEO. Daniel is an experienced financial professional with deep expertise in cash and P&L forecasting, budgeting, consolidated reporting, and executive-level presentations. He holds a Bachelor’s degree and MBA from Kennesaw State University.

Daniel began his career as a Financial Analyst at Fiserv, a payments processor based in Norcross, Georgia, before moving into the automotive sector with Icahn Automotive Group. There he was promoted to Finance Manager, taking on increased financial responsibility for a $3 billion per year business — including reporting that directly impacted executive compensation and incentives.

His entry into the energy industry came through Wood Group PLC, where he supported the finance function of their Engineering and Renewables EPC business for three years. He then joined Bridge Investment Group as Vice President of FP&A, arriving just as the firm launched Bridge Solar Energy Development in partnership with Lumen Energy Inc.

At Infratech, Daniel brings that breadth of experience across payments, automotive, and energy to a company doing work that matters, designing, installing, and maintaining the electrical infrastructure that communities depend on every day. It’s work he takes seriously, and a mission he’s proud to support.

Brandon Wilson serves as Vice President of IT at Infratech Corporation, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in information technology to a company that runs on precision and performance. He holds a BBA in Information Systems from Kennesaw State University.

Brandon’s interest in technology started early, when the first x286 computer running DOS showed up at his house at age 14, he was hooked. As software and hardware evolved, so did his skills across networking, Windows operating systems, and enterprise software.

He began his career at Genuine Parts Company, supporting proprietary software used across NAPA Service Centers, before joining Infratech in 2006 as Manager of IT. In the years since, Brandon has been a driving force behind the technology infrastructure that keeps Infratech’s operations running across multiple states and service territories. He has built out online web forms for remote production and job entry, deployed laptops to field teams, and is currently developing a mobile tablet application for crews in the field.

His expertise spans MS SQL Server, Windows Server, SIP-based phone systems, networking, VPNs, and Crystal Reports, technical depth that has helped position Infratech as a contractor of choice for utilities across the South and Mid-Atlantic.

At Infratech, Brandon ensures the technology keeps pace with the company’s growth, building systems that support the people doing the work on the ground.

Greg Dabney serves as Regional Vice President of the Palmetto Region at Infratech Corporation. With more than 30 years in the electrical utility industry and over 23 years at Infratech, Greg is one of the company’s founding team members and a cornerstone of everything it has become.

Greg served in the U.S. Army from 1974 to 1986, completing Airborne Training and joining the 5th Special Forces Group. He was part of the operation during the 1983 reclamation of Grenada following the U.S. invasion to rescue students held by Cuban forces — an experience that shaped the discipline and decisiveness he brings to everything he does.

He began his civilian career as a groundman with the Public Works Commission in Fayetteville, NC, before joining FlowMole/Utilix Corporation in Atlanta as an early pioneer in Horizontal Directional Drilling. He quickly advanced to Area Manager, overseeing operations across five states with nearly 100 employees.

Greg joined Infratech in 1994 as Operations Manager and Director of Underground Services and has been a driving force ever since. He is a recognized expert in HDD and utility services, a proactive leader who gets things done, and someone who has earned the trust of crews and customers alike. He also played a key role in developing Infratech’s Mission Statement, Vision, and Code of Honor.

Today, Greg leads subcontractor recruitment across critical regions, bringing the same integrity and relationships he has built over three decades to every partnership.

Kenny Perkins serves as Vice President of Safety & Training at Infratech Corporation, bringing more than 15 years of experience in safety and operations across generation and residential distribution. Kenny is deeply committed to building and maintaining a strong safety culture — not as a compliance exercise, but as a core value that protects the people doing the work every day.

Kenny is a United States Marine Corps combat veteran, having served in multiple countries and roles over his military career, including two tours in Iraq. The discipline and mission-focus he developed in service have defined his approach to safety leadership ever since.

After leaving the military, Kenny worked in electrical generation, constructing large-scale solar farms for utilities across the United States before transitioning into a dedicated safety career. He has held roles as Safety Coordinator, Training Manager, Safety Director, and Site Superintendent — overseeing sites with values in excess of $100 million.

Kenny holds an extensive list of certifications, including OSHA Trainer, First Aid/CPR Instructor, Smith System Driving Instructor, Confined Space, Fall Protection, NFPA 70E, and MESH, among others.

At Infratech, Kenny leads the safety and training programs that keep nearly 600 employees protected across every jobsite, every day. His vigilance, experience, and genuine commitment to the people around him make him an essential part of who Infratech is.

Matt Petrillo serves as Regional Vice President of the Florida Region at Infratech Corporation, reporting directly to the COO and based in Pompano Beach. Matt has been with Infratech for nearly eight years, growing through roles of increasing responsibility, from Permit Coordinator to Project Supervisor to Operations Manager to his current leadership position overseeing a team of 40 to 80 employees.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Geographic Information Systems from Florida Atlantic University and began his career at a land survey firm, where early exposure to utility construction sparked a direction he’s been building on ever since. He went on to earn a Certification in AutoCAD before joining UC Synergetic (now Pike Engineering) as a Permit Coordinator, where he developed expertise in municipal permitting and distribution electric design.

He joined Infratech in 2016 and hasn’t looked back. In his time with the company, Matt has managed Cable Replacement Programs, URD construction, subaqueous directional bores, water infrastructure projects, and various pilot programs for Florida Power and Light — including numerous projects exceeding $1 million in value. He holds an Underground Utility and Excavation license and serves as both the state of Florida’s secondary qualifier and Infratech’s subject matter expert on permitting and right-of-way.

In his current role, Matt leads internal and external teams to deliver large-scale distribution electric projects safely, on time, and on budget.

Michael Schrier serves as Equipment Manager at Infratech Corporation, bringing 30 years of experience in fleet and equipment management to one of the most operationally critical roles in the company. His expertise spans acquisition and disposal, life cycle management, utilization and optimization, SOP development, and vendor relations — keeping Infratech’s fleet running at peak performance so field crews can focus on the work.

Mike began his career at Stock Building Supply, one of the nation’s largest suppliers to professional contractors, joining in 1982 and advancing to Senior Fleet Manager. In that role, he oversaw more than 2,000 fleet assets across eleven states and developed a comprehensive Maintenance Tracking System that significantly reduced administrative manhours and documentation overhead. In 2009, he transitioned to an independent consulting role with the same company, helping manage the implementation of their SLS Logistics and GPS system while supporting fixed asset management.

Mike joined Infratech in 2013 and has been instrumental in building the policies, procedures, and systems that govern the company’s fleet operations. He manages vehicle and equipment specifications, acquisitions, appraisals, and disposals, and plays an active role in capital planning and budget preparation.

His ability to build strong vendor relationships lowers costs and saves time and his commitment to safety ensures that every piece of equipment in the field meets the legal and operational standards that protect Infratech’s crews every day.

Beau Davies serves as Vice President of Human Resources at Infratech Corporation, overseeing HR operations, recruiting, and resource partner and subcontractor onboarding.

Before joining Infratech, Beau built a career in human resources with Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 companies, managing responsibilities across three quarters of the United States and Canada. His expertise spans the full HR spectrum, from labor-level recruiting to senior executive hiring, with specialized experience in Lean Six Sigma, OFCCP compliance, affirmative action planning, diversity hiring, niche industry staffing, and social media recruiting.

Beau is also a retired U.S. Army combat veteran. He served as a Paratrooper with Task Force 1 Panther of the 82nd Airborne Division and as a military recruiter, a role that sharpened the people-first instincts he brings to his work today. His military decorations include the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, and Global War on Terrorism Service and Campaign medals.

His commitment to the veteran community extends beyond his service. Beau holds active affiliations with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and the 82nd Airborne Association.
