Safety At Infratech
Safety Isn't a Program. It's Who We Are.
Safety is the foundation on which Infratech was built more than three decades ago. It’s embedded in our values, reinforced with daily training, and measured relentlessly against company and industry standards.
Our safety culture is shaped by our responsibility to protect our employees, project partners, and communities. It’s proven by results, including an Experience Modification Rate (EMR) in the top fifth percentile nationally.
A Message from Our VP of Safety & Training
Safety is Personal Here
The culture at Infratech is tight-knit. The reality is that many of us spend more time with our coworkers than with our families. The result is that we not only care about each other’s well being, we depend on each other to protect it.
Every member of our Infratech family is committed to ensuring everyone that’s involved in our work — not just our coworkers, but our neighbors and project partners as well — remains safe and healthy under our watch.
How We Put Safety Into Practice
Daily Habits That Keep Our People Safe
Infratech’s safety program is a living system of daily practices, rigorous training, and continuous improvement. We’ve built and refined this system over 30 years of working in some of the most demanding environments in the electric utility industry.
-
Daily JSA (Job Safety Analysis)
Every crew begins each day with a Job Safety Analysis to identify site-specific hazards, review procedures, and ensure every team member is aligned before work begins. No job of ours starts without it.
-
OSHA Certification
Infratech maintains rigorous OSHA compliance across all operations. Our team members receive ongoing OSHA training and certification to ensure they understand and uphold the industry’s highest safety standards.
-
In-House Training
From apprentice to foreman, Infratech invests in continuous in-house safety training — including participation in the T&D PowerSkills Apprenticeship Program and specialized job briefings tailored to each project environment.
-
In-House Safety Team
Our dedicated safety team, led by Kenny Perkins, provides oversight, conducts audits, analyzes incidents, and drives the corrective action and recognition programs that keep our safety culture sharp and accountable.
-
Top-Fifth-Percentile EMR
Our Experience Modification Rate (EMR) is consistently ranked in the top fifth percentile nationally, a direct reflection of our daily safety briefings, human performance analysis, and our relentless commitment to sending everyone home safe.
Technology at Infratech
Leveling up with industry-leading tech
Infratech invests in technology not only for our own sake, but because the right tools make our people safer, our work more accurate, and our partners better informed.

-
Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Locating
GPR technology enables our underground crews to accurately locate existing utilities and subsurface features before excavation, in turn reducing the risk of utility strikes and protecting both our people and your infrastructure.
